But i really love singapore even more man!! really...
I really have lots to say, but i have no idea where to start or what to write about... so this is gonna be very random... hur hurr...
first of all, this place is awfully cold!! it ain't freezing though, but it IS the coldest i've ever experienced... i landed in melbourne only with a polo tee and a pair of berms... and i told Amos, 'hey look at the guy over there!' that guy was wearing a blue singlet and pink skinny shorts... eccentric, and no, i wasn't admiring his sense of dressing but i thought that if he's that skinny and wearing that little, i wouldn't have any problem with the cold... chill out man...
but hoo! it was really freezing (ok water won't freeze at this temperature), and when we boarded the taxi, the driver said, 'cold out there eh? radio says it's 4 degrees'... humph... i see... 4 degrees, that's when water is most dense... no wonder i was feeling rather... rather... dense...
and by the way, we wouldn't have to flag a cab down if it ain't for jeremy who overslept, and also made us wait at the airport for close to 2 hours...
ya know rachel, we did come out of the perth airport!! argh!! should have called you or sth...
the food here is awesome... no wonder i think i put on about 2 kg or more already... shucks...
we are staying with jeremy at his 'hostel'... that word conjures a mental image of somewhere like yusoff hall, ya know, a common toilet and shower, a common pantry, crazy ppl who take extremist pride in guarding the name of the hall... but jeremy's hostel is really an apartment... there's a kitchen (yep with a stove and an oven!!), a toilet with shower, 2 rooms and comes together with the bonus consolation prize, a balcony!! swimming pool, gym and other facilities are included, batteries are sold seperately, doesn't come with ken doll...
things in melbourne are all so expensive... it's impossible to get a meal outside for under A$10... (s$13)... and everything else is expensive too!! we get around in a tram, which is almost identical to an LRT running in the middle of the road... buildings here look really cool... ppl here look gorgeous... i dun mean just the ladies, but the guys, the older folks, the kids... a road sweeper from melbourne can easily pose as a tourist in singapore... hold it if you think that i'm trying to discriminate road sweepers, you are wrong... ppl here take pride in their work, and it shows... so if your mom tells you, 'study hard or become a road sweeper', it can only mean one thing, she has never seen an angmoh road sweeper...
i crashed a couple of lectures at melbourne university with jeremy... i fell asleep in the chem lecture, and when i woke up, i continued scribbling my notes and paid more attention to the lecturer... organic chem is an important topic... there's so much info to digest... and phew, we were saved by the bell... as i made my way out of the lecture hall, disorientation set in as i realised that i am in australia... deja visite...
the television here is pure crap... which is really good (huh?), cos i wouldn't want to stay in the hostel to watch tv...
i passed by some cool places today, like the rod laver arena (where the australian open, tennis grand slam is played), the melbourne cricket ground (where the national team plays their cricket), st. paul's cathedral (we went in and saw really amazing stuff) and nicole kidman on the street...
you know what's the best thing? i am only nearly halfway through my holiday...
i'll upload the photos when i get back... the server in this cafe is CHUI...
