Virtuoso vs. Legend

Wynton Marsalis... the all-time bestest trumpeter!! and of cos, my favourite...
the first video features him, playing carnival of venice with the boston pops orchestra, and conducted by john williams... yes that john williams that wrote all that indiana jones and star wars music...

and the second video features sergei nakariakov, a russian trumpet prodigy, playing the same piece. he gets all his technique right, and even though he's already damn zai, he pales in comparison to wynton...

to be honest, wynton is playing MUSIC, and sergei is just playing the NOTES IN THE SCORE... the feeling is just way off...

and for those of you who don't really listen to music, please, just watch this video... you'll realise that wynton is THAT good... btw, he's still alive... he's only 47 this year... that's still young for a musician...
