Ibises (pronounced "EYE-bis-es") are a group of long-legged wading birds in the family Threskiornithidae. They all have long down curved bills, and usually feed as a group, probing mud for food items, usually crustaceans. Most species nest in trees, often with spoonbills or herons.
The word ibis comes from Greek, originally borrowed from Ancient Egyptian hîb.
According to folklore, the ibis is the last form of wildlife to take shelter prior to a hurricane and the first to reappear after the storm passes. The Sacred Ibis was also an object of religious veneration in ancient Egypt, particularly associated with the god, Thoth. At the town of Hermopolis, ibises were reared specifically for sacrificial purposes and in the Serapeum at Saqqara, archaeologists found the mummies of one and a half million ibises and hundreds of thousand of falcons. After finding out abit about the ibis, i have no idea why yirong has been calling herself the ibis ever since the beginning... she's a senior of mine from dunman high band, a place of memories good and bad aplenty... and she's really the best trumpet player i have ever come across who can play with such great stamina despite her petite physique.
She has also been a awesome senior that i have always looked up to...
She is simply the symbol of the modern elite female in this time and age... and her english is sibei zai too... and i wonder if she still understands what 'zai' means... hur hur!! no offense meant okay? just check out her blog (under my links)...
She thinks that i'm flattering her, and i'm offended by it. cos i always try my best to say what i mean and mean what i say!! hur hur!!
ok when i was in sec 1, i think she was super scary cos she was quite fierce and she was ice cool... you could see drops of water condensating on her skin!! and den she quite dao lar, so i dun really dare to talk to her!! haw haw!!
and then she just said that she thinks i was way better on the trumpet than her which i didn't really deny cos i couldn't have came across myself right?? hur hur... and she feels bad for being dao and say that she didn't make an awesome senior but how bad could a senior have been when she had influenced me musically and in terms of leading the section??
is there anyone you wished that you have gotten to know better? and that chance seems to have gone by? yep, that chance flew off together with the ibis!!
All the best to your future!! God bless you!! ;)
This one's for you! Hidamari!!
