and i have never found such joy in reading til now... books are now such a joy to me, they provide me with such an insight into the lives of others (eg, how Tom Hurndall, a peace worker in Palestine was tragically and intentionally shot dead by an Israeli soldier while he attempted to carry children away from the trigger happy Israeli soldiers), open my eyes to things that have never crossed my mind (eg, how God has designed our lives to intertwine with people whom we have never met but may have a great impact on each others' lives, how women in the middle east are ill-treated, the struggle that autistic children face, how power-crazy starscream is...)
most importantly, books have provided me with healthy entertainment in the form of an alternate reality... as i immerse myself in those novels, i find myself in the lives of the main characters... and that feeling is simply indescribably, in da house man...
amos told me that the books that i read don't seem to tell that i've started reading recently only, and i replied, 'so you want me to read enid blyton'? he shot back, 'no, nancy drew, hardy boys...'. hur hur
btw, of all those books mentioned above, go grab 'A Thousand Splendid Suns'... it's awesome...
Next, i'm gonna go get The Alchemist, Tuesdays with Morrie, Deception Point and Miracle of Pi (i think i got that title right, sengyin and kengsan told me about that awesome book) oh yar and toto chan!!
